With the announcement of the repair works on the Tower of St. Marys Church, there will be some disruption to the roads surrounding the church for approx seven weeks from Mid August.
Northgate Street will be closed to through traffic, meaning access to New Street and New Street Car Park will be via Barrack Street into Old Square, as the one-way system will be reverted during the works.
As Old Square will be a primary access route for the town, this will need to be open seven days a week, so we cannot close it for Warwick Market.
This will sadly mean we will be limited to space for the period of approx seven weeks, and a slight layout change will have to be implemented to accommodate as many traders as possible.
John Walker of CJ's Events Warwickshire said: 'We appreciate these works needs to be carried out, it's just a shame on the timing when local towns and independent businesses need footfall now more than ever. We've been working alongside St Mary's Church, Warwick Town Council & Warwickshire County Council to ensure the impact is kept to a minimum.
'We'll be working with our market traders over the next week or so to inform them of any changes which may impact them. However, our market & the rest of the town remains open for business during the repair works.'
