Festive Season Office & Market Update
Our office will close at 4pm on Friday, 20th December, and will reopen at 9am on Monday, 6th January 2025. 📅 Limited email support will be available until Monday, 23rd December.
Following the Governments Announcement yesterday, Saturday 31 October, the UK will be going into a Second Lockdown from Thursday 5 November until Wednesday 2 December, CJ's Events Warwickshire are currently pausing their weekly markets and cancelling all monthly special markets until then.
Jamie Walker of CJ's Events Warwickshire said: 'We are absolutely devastated we're entering into a second lockdown, but fully understand the reasons behind it. We've built our markets up over the past few months to be a safe environment inline with Central & Local Government advice.
During the first lockdown, markets hosting Food & Drink stalls (for consumption at home) were permitted to go ahead. We will be seeking clarification from Warwick District Councils Senior Management Team and Environmental Health tomorrow (Monday 2 November) to see the options available. However, we are confident we have the plans and procedures in place to ensure it remains a COVID secure environment and to remain open.
Safety will remain at the forefront of our operations and we will not compromise public safety, but also are keen to ensure local independent businesses, including ourselves, can survive during a second lockdown.
We will do our upmost best to ensure the essential stalls can trade at our weekly markets, as these are a lifeline for so many residents within the District and are a much more after way to shop than supermarkets. However, until permission is given, we are pausing all weekly markets. We hope to have an update by end of Monday 2 November.
