CJ’s Events Warwickshire Cancels Weekend Markets Due to Safety Concerns
CJ's Events Warwickshire regrets to announce the cancellation of all markets scheduled for this weekend due to safety concerns arising from Storm Bert.
The decision, which has not been taken lightly, has been made amidst the current situation with COVID-19.
Jamie Walker of CJ's Events Warwickshire said: 'COVID-19 is a fast moving and complex situation, the health, safety and welfare of our team, exhibitors, contractors and visitors must be taken seriously during this crisis. Whilst the current advice is for events to run as normal, it is highly likely this advice will change in the coming days, as reported by a number of media sources over the weekend.
'The team have put a great deal of time, resource and energy into organising and promoting this year's Barton Marina Food Festival and this is not a decision we've made lightly, but one we feel Government will back up shortly.
'We realise the cancellation will be a huge disappointment to our exhibitors and thousands of visitors, and we sincerely apologise, but hope you respect our difficult decision to act now, removing uncertainty, reducing the amount of outlay by our food & drink exhibitors, suppliers and partners.
'We have decided not to reschedule the Food Festival for later this year, and to return on Sunday 4th April & Monday 5th April 2021. We will be making contact directly with exhibitors booked into this event tomorrow, Tuesday 17th April to inform them of the next steps and urge exhibitors to not to email or call our office regarding this situation.
CJ's Events Warwickshire have confirmed the monthly Artisan Markets will run as normal from March until November, unless Public Health England and Government advice changes.
A dedicated page on the operators website has been set up to keep everyone updated on their markets & special events over the coming months: www.cjseventswarwickshire.co.uk/COVID-19
